MONALITE is a machinable engineering material for high thermal shock environments used primarily in molten non-ferrous applications. Formulated without the use of asbestos fibres specifically for high temperature use, the material is a medium density calcium silicate board, able to withstand up to 1,000°C. It is thermally insulating, resistant to fracture and temperature stable, and due to its homogeneous structure, it can readily be worked and processed to form precision parts of high quality.


MONALITE
has 2 standard grades currently in the market:

  • MONALITE M1 which is the standard product for contact with molten non-ferrous metal up to 850°C; and
  • MONALITE M1A which is improved with lower shrinkage and higher temperature up to 1,000°C. 


Benefits:

  • "Non wetting" giving it a waterproof type ability with most molten metal.

The product can be cut and machined to give high definition edges using traditional machining techniques. We are able to offer a cutting and machining service to your specified design or cut your panels to a required size.

Standard sheet sizes are 1500 x 1200mm & 3000mm x 1220mm, with thicknesses ranging from 6mm to 101.6mm.
